The person who knows the answer of the riddle is randomized. It's either the scout, the chef, mapman, kate or the dragon.
There are two possibilities to get the money for the peppermind:
- Sell the vase from the governeurs mansion to the stuffkeeper (gives you 10 credits)
- Pick up the duck from the safe and sell it to the stuffkeeper (should NOT work twice). This gives you 3 credits, finally not enough to pay mapman for the riddle too.
There is a hidden possibility to complete Part 1 without getting arrested: Pick up the gold from the dragon, transform it into straw and just walk to Kate, where you transform it back to gold to pay for the cruise. (You will miss the crowbar this time - so be happy to find another one onto the ship).
Some items on the ship have randomized positions. I dunno if they have specials phrases but here are the possible positions:
- The doll and the monocle are either in the chest near the sleeping person, in the chest on the lower deck or in the suitcase in the back of the lower deck. The third position is always empty.
- The toupet and the sock are either in the cabinet, under the bed or in the chest on the right. The key is either in the left or the right drawer.
To pick up the voodoo doll out of the pot you can either use the crowbar or the colander.
There are 4 possible ways the use the voodoo doll at the sheriff:
- Use the darts on it while you are with him in his room.
- Put the doll into the stove.
- Throw the doll out of the window in the galley
- Throw the doll over the plank
You will get to 3 different cutscenes (the last 2 result in the same cutscene).
There are two possibilities to mix the hangover remedy - it depends on if you have sunken the ship or not.
- Let the barkeeper mix it for you.
- If you have sunken the ship you have to throw all the ingredients into the beer (cervisia).
To prove that the crook can also dye some cloth to green you can either use it on the ball of twine or on a T-shirt (also works on the sock back in Part 2!).
To get the golden drink from the gift shop you can either give the guy the T-shirt with the three headed monkey or the mini figure from the monkey head.
You can either buy the T-shirts from Steve, or just steal it, if you use the voodoo necklace. (Or try to buy the shirts and look cloaked at the register later
There are two possibilities to let Erna go away, so you can enter the captain's cabin: Either you give her the voodoo necklace or the invitation to the party (second leads you to the previous point and also to another solution...).
To crash the party you can either start the fire alarm or.... just give Erna the invitation (see above) ;-).
To get the chainsaw you can either paint a cross at the map and look at it, or just use the whoopee cushion while the door is opened.
To get rid of the ghost rat you can use one of the harder alcohols (absinth, blue vodka or straw rum) or a mesh them up with the semolina.
To get the absinth from the ghost you can either use the feather or a hemp leave.
To get rid of the gardener you can either use the stink bomb or the fake vomit on the grass.
To befriending the canibals you can give them one of 3 things:
- The ticket for the vegetable museum.
- A green dyed T-shirt (little dialog puzzle included)
- A signed plate of Elvis (Use the pencil onto the plate)
The golden drink can be turned into straw rum while using it with the crook. The straw rum can be turned into a doom drink while using it with the chili sauce.

The hamster can get different abilities when you use things on it:
Using it with the cables at the twine restaurant it will get an electic shock.
Giving the blue vodka will give him the ability to blow fresh air.
Giving him the absinth will give him the ability to poison.
Giving him the straw rum will give him the ability to breath fire.
Giving him the doom drink will result in a super fire ability.
Giving him a hemp leave will give him the ability to heal.
You can choose different alcoholics for drinking. Every opponent has a favorite alcohol which will make him harder, but also leads to a special insult, which only he knows.
You won't be able to get all these special insults (the last 5 insults in the list) without choosing the favorite drink of every opponent one time.
The guy with white shirt and blond hair likes cervisia (bad if you have wasted it in the hangover remedy).
The guy with the red shirt and hat likes the red wine (to be found at canibal village).
The guy with the pink shirt and bandana likes sparkling wine (let Gaybrush give it to you before you crash the party).
The guy with the blue shirt likes the blue vodka.
The guy with the green shirt likes absinth.
The straw rum and the doom drink will make the contest shorter, as both opponents will get drunk very soon. You can also choose these at the drinking masters, to shorten the final up.
But aware, this will also make it harder for you, if you miss some answers.
You can put one of the harder alcohols into the tumbler to turn it into grog or just use light alcohol or water and do it twice.
You can use the doom drink onto the rusty chest to open it, without solving the puzzle chain with the grog machine.

There are a total of 3 times 4 Symbols with an description in the book, and one per disk is randomly picked.
Instead of giving the ghost chef his favorite drink you can just put on the voodoo necklace and walk through the kitchen.
You can also just pick up the key near Klaus while wearing the necklace instead of using the pan onto the dinosaur head.
To make the paper readable you can either put it into the stove or use it with the candle.
Besides the governeurs mansion, there are two possible locations to reach with the teleport:
One of these locations is randomly picked up on every start of the game. Both are very similar as they include the same puzzle. But the graveyard has some additional textes and also leads to the town in Part 1.
The first one is always head-rip, but the other one depend on the skeleton-pictures onto the wall of the corridor.
There are 7 possibilities to defeat the governeur which lead to some different endings:
Put the teddy into the box outside near Steve.
Put the teddy into the iron maiden.
Use the teddy with laxative.
Put the teddy into the voodoo stove.
Put the teddy into the kitchen stove.
Put the teddy at the candle. (same ending as above)
Use the syringe with the teddy while near the governeur.
